When should I send out party invitations?

Send your invitation at least one month before the event. Save-the-date announcements should be sent anywhere from 3 to 9 months before the event if logistics (international travel, destination wedding, etc.) or seasonal conflicts (holidays, vacation schedules, graduations, etc.) may present last minute problems for your guests.

What are my design options?

There are two ways to proceed. If you are mailing within 2 to 3 weeks then consult the Fine Paper Albums for inspiration. Each vendor has their own particular style - whether traditional, modern or humorous – and you most certainly will find an invitation to meet your requirements. If pressed for time, most Guild member stores have many attractive boxed invitations and announcements that can generally be printed within 48 hours.

How do I word my invitation?

Wording may be formal, casual or playful. Bring in your general idea and an experienced stationer at a Guild member store will help you with the wording and design ideas.

Can I use a photograph on the invitation?

Yes. Black and white photographs tend to reproduce best, but we have often use color in creating a custom birthday or anniversary invitation. Guild members can normally print the invitation in-house within a week while some will often take two to three weeks. Understand that the photo may lose some clarity. Appointments are recommended to discuss your options.

Do you have printer-compatible stocks that I can print myself?

Yes. Most boxed invitation stock is compatible with either laser or ink-jet printers. Guild stores are happy to provide advice and suggestions on what boxed invitation stock is best for your circumstances.
